Carbonite this week announced Tom Murray to the position of VP of Marketing. Murray comes from a career at TomTom and, prior to that, Gillette.
Carbonite is still looking for a Creative Production Associate and a Product Marketing Manager in their marketing department. Open positions at Carbonite are posted on their website.

What’s becoming a commodity in the online backup industry, IDrive has joined others in releasing an app for iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads. You can:
Other online backup services that have apps to access your data from an iOS device include Mozy and Carbonite.
Dropbox, the popular file sharing and synchronization service, recently announced some impressive figures on the growth of the service. More than 25 million users are now storing over 200 million files with Dropbox.
While we don’t see Dropbox as an online backup service, we do think it’s a great file sharing platform, and use it ourselves.

Mozy, the top-rated online backup service, announced it has successfully completed a
ISO/IEC 27001 formally specifies a management system that is intended to bring information security under explicit management control. Being a formal specification means that it mandates specific requirements.
A Type II audit checks to see if the data security system has been properly designed and implemented,
and is actually working.
For MozyHome users, this means little, but for some MozyPro users, this may be a requirement set forth for determining which online backup provider to use.
